Boarding: 

Daily rate is based on a 24-hour period starting at the scheduled drop-off time. 

  • As courtesy, we offer a 3-hour grace period to allow for minor delays in pick-up. 
  • The Grace period is not intended to use for extended bookings. It is meant for traffic, flight delays or emergencies. 
  • Notify Playful Pal of delays as soon as possible*

If Pick-Up is extended past 24-hour window:

  • An additional charge will apply for extended care. 
  • A Daycare fee will be charged for extra care under 5 hours, and a boarding fee will apply for care over 5 hours

Daycare: 

Rate is based on requested time of care. 

  • View Daycare Tab for price breakdown.
  • Grace Period is to be accessed, but generally only for extended care. 
  • If pup has not been picked up prior to 8:30pm and additional rate will be discussed.


Service hours:

Operating hours 6:30am to 9pm

  • First intake is at 6:45am, per availability
  • Final pick up time is at 8:30pm
  • Final evening intake is at 6pm


Time should be requested accordingly for travel and daycare needs for accurate quote.


Example: 

Request: 

  • Drop Off at 11am with Pick Up at 2pm for Boarding

Quote: 

  • One, 24hr rate for boarding 11am to 11am next day 
  • One, Extended care rate, Daycare fee under 5 hours 

*Protocol:

  • Notify Playful Pal about delay, if possible, minimum 1-2 hours from set pick up time to coordinate new arrival and  set up the Grace Period. 
  • A Grace period may be offered at that time to accommodate modified pick up and Playful Pal schedule. 

 


We do pick up and drop off via side yard only. 


If you arrived early, or you know plans have changed please text/call 916-705-1275 prior to going to the gate. 


We do pick up and drop off by appointment only as we aim to have the pups free roam throughout the day. 


Once we are aware a friend is going home we place our guests into their playpens until pick up is completed. 


We focus on smaller breeds, puppies and seniors under 40lbs. 


We occasionally grandfather bigger pups beyond 40lbs if they qualify based on personality traits.

We love puppies and are excited you chose Playful Pal to build important steps towards their social development.  


We offer: 

  • Optimal outside time
  • Frequent bathroom breaks  
  • Attempts at nap time, if necessary
  • Encourage play time with the other guests 
  • Provide brain games or solo time of fetch


Our puppy rate includes: 

  • Devote 1 on 1 
  • Dedicated clean up for accidents
  • Redirecting until things get into a routine


At the age of 2: 

  • We reassess how the puppy is doing under our care and discount to the regular dog rate.  Restrictions Apply*


  • If there are still frequent accidents, unnecessary marking, chewing, barking or behavior traits that need additional oversite, we will have to continue with the puppy rate until all that resolves.  


  • The rate both applies to dog daycare and dog boarding


From the start of care you will know who your fur-babies friends are as I send videos and images throughout their stay. 


If there is an urgent matter I will text but it will be mostly image based. 


If you need additional information about the care of your puppy, do not hesitate to reach out.  


*We don't do facetime with the puppies as that seems to confuse some of them and stress them out more. 


Pick-up and drop-off is at side yard only: 


We want to establish a routine for exit and entry for walks as time goes on.


Please Please Please don't knock on the front door as you will hear of whoosh of barking. We don't want to startle anyone. 


If you are running late or want to pick up early it is best to text 916-705-1275 to coordinate a good pick up time; I am occasionally out doing drop-in visits or quick errands.  


Definitely, We do meet and greets in our yard without other dog interaction. 


Unfortunately, in-home walk through isn't permitted at this time to ensure a good experience for incoming guests. 


We like to introduce the one by one at the time of the boarding. 


We aim for a good meet experience without being barked at by current guests who are enjoying their staycation. This will allow a positive feeling for them when they return. 


We want to remove the Vet visit overwhelm. 


We do a 10-15 minute walk right before pick up at the end of daycare or the staycation. 


Daily walks vary based on guest capacity and weather.


 

  • Pre-packaged food in sealed Ziploc bags that is measured out for each feeding. Or a bag with a measuring cup to get perfect servings.  It is a good idea to include enough food for a few extra feedings in case your arrival home gets delayed.
  • Bed or blanket, favorite toys and treats, or any other items that help your dog feel at home
  • A standard leash is preferred
  • Any supplements or medications your dog requires 


No, we don't crate unless it's necessary. 


The Pals are in a play pen during meal times, quiet time and bedtime. 


The rest of the time they are free roam in common area and in the yard. View images under accommodations.


Unlike some larger facilities that are indoor only, we are a small in-home service with ample outside time.  


Occasionally, there is a chance of contracting or spreading Kennel Cough to other dogs in boarding or social settings.  


All pets must be in good health prior to receiving any services. 


If you find your pup is having symptoms, we suggest your keep your pup at home or get a written clearance prior to the stay.  


If your pup continues to have symptoms under our care we:

  • Contact the owner
  • Contact your emergency for a pick up  


We follow the recommendations that are required by your groomer: 

  •  Current on the Rabies Vaccination

 

Bordetella has many strains, yet the vaccine might not have all the variants.

Yes, we aim to do a meet and greet with all our new guests. Based on scheduling we can't always guarantee it. 


We strive to keep your home and pet/s well maintained while you travel and iron all the details out prior to starting the service.


If it is a cat, we are happy to do a facetime walk -thru and discuss all the details as well as key placement.  


If it is a dog walk, depending on the situation, we can possibly do a call/facetime or skip it all together.

We strive to accommodate all our new or established pals throughout the year if there is availability. 


It is preferred to book with advance notice for services needed for your fur-babies, but we understand that things come up as well.  


If booked within 3 days of care on a frequent bases, Playful Pal has a $30 last minute reservation fee for all services, 


We charge a $5-10 holiday fee per family per day. 


When a dog boarding, daycare or drop-in visit reservation falls on a holiday weekend:

A fee is applied to the observed dates in addition to one or two proceeding and/or after the RCSD holiday. The lower holiday rate might apply on the surrounding dates.


Details vary slightly based on services requested.

Clarifications and rates will be finalized prior to booking.


Holiday rates apply to those dates observed by the Roseville School District and Federal Holidays:  See Contract for exact dates;

  • Spring Break: Easter 
  • Fall Break : Thanksgiving
  • Winter Break  : Christmas, New Year 
  • Labor Day Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July
  • Veterans, MLK, Lincoln Day, Presidents Day, Valentines


Summer is priced at the regular rate, unless overlapping with a holiday.
